-The Deadwood Outlaws ended the season with a 89-72 record which was good
enough for second place in the Enterprise McCoy division.
-Local newspaper writers have annoucned the Outlaws team awards.
MVP-RF Gary Sheffield (.336, 42hr, 125 rbi)
The top pitcher award went to LHP Randy Johnson (16-7, 2.54 era, 243k).
Team rookie of the year went to RHP Bartolo Colon (12-8, 3.26).
-Team GM Philip Raisor as already started work on next season's roster.
Raisor confirmed reports that the club is shopping RF Gary Sheffield and
LHP Randy Johnson. Assuming a trade does NOT take place, the Outlaw's
rotation and line-up are set. The only question marks are who will
comprise the bullpen, and will the Outlaws be able to find any
experienced back-ups. Raisor and manager Don Slaught were not very happy
with production off the bench (aside from 3b Chris Sabo), and are trying
to find some remedy.
-Veterens Jason Bates, Bruce Ruffin, and Benji GIl are not expected to
return next season, though no final decesion has been made.
