Deadwood Acquires Harnisch and Alou

(Deadwood, SD)...In an attempt to shore up it's pitching, the Deadwood Outlaws have traded, pending league approval, RHPs Clint Faatz and Dick Duncan plus a player to be named to the Tucson Border Patrol for RHP Pete Harnisch and out fielder Moise Alou.

The player to be named is rumored to be injured starter, Jason Schmidt.Ê

To make room on the 25 man roster to Harnisch and Alou, the Outlaws have sent Bill Risley to AAA Dodge City of the Kansas league, and released veteren John Vander Wal.Ê

Risley was scheduled to take injured RHP Jose Rijo's place in the rotation, but that spot will now be Harnisch's.

Alou joins a line-up that already includes such notable players as Gary Sheffield and Tino Martinez.Ê It is believed that Alou will take over in right field, while Sheffield will take over the DH role.
