Deadwood continues to hang on to it's half share of first place in the McCoy Division (Damnit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a baseball division!), but has lost another starter, as RHP Jose Rijo has gone on the shelf with a strained calf muscle.Ê Rijo joins starting pitchers Jeff Fassero and Jason Schmidt on Deadwood's over-crowded disabled list, that also includes Javy Lopez (who is expected back in a month), and Ken Caminiti (who is out for the year).
RHP Bill Risley has been re-called from Dodge City to take Rijo's place in the rotation.Ê
