Deadwood Ties Hartford for Division Lead

The Deadwood Outlaws are now tied with Hartford for first in the McCoy Division after a 7-6 win over Macon. Both Garry Sheffield and Tino Martinez homered for the victorious Outlaws. Jeff Brantley gave up 2ER in 2/3 of an inning but notched his second win of the season. Outlaw starter, Mark Portugal, pitched five scorless innings but got a no decesion.

In other news, rookie pitcher Garvin Alston made his major league debut, and after giving up two runs in less then an inning, was sent back to AAA Dodge City. Also, all-star catcher, Javier Lopez, began his month long re-hab down in Dodge.

Trades? The Outlaws are still trying to get a power hitting 3B or SS...
