Seattle Shakes Up Bullpen, Puts A-Rod on the Market

--FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--

(Seattle)--In an attempt to shake up sub .500 Mariners, club GM Philip Raisor has taken the following actions. First veteren pitchers Dan Miceli and Turk Wendell have been optioned to AAA Tacoma and have been replaced by prospects Bartolo Colon and Mark Petkovsek. Of the moves Raisor said, "Miceli and Wendell just haven't gotten the job done and we thought this was the best idea." In another, surprising, move, the Mariners have announced that shortstop Alex Rodriguez may be available for the right combination of players. Raisor admits that this move may not be popular with Seattle fans, but may be necessary to save the season. "We would hate to lose A-Rod, but if we can improve the team we will make the move." According to Raisor, several teams have already inquired about Rodriguez, but there has been no decesion made yet. When asked about the availbility of other Mariner players, Raisor said, "Our only untouchable player is Randy Johnson."
