Knights sweep Knights

In its first showdown of the year with the "other" Knights of Sacramento, the Larimer Knights emerged the clear winner, with three shutout wins of 4-0, 2-0, and 11-0. The news was received very well by team owner John Dybala, resting at home recovering from a case of food poisoning.

"I am very happy to see our pitching staff finally getting its act together, as well as our offense. Now, if we can just move up in the division, I'll be even happier."

Fortunately, the team doesn't have all that far to climb. Despite sharing the bottom of the Data division division with Chicago, the Knights are only 4.5 games out of first.

In other news, Larimer is waiting for its recent trade with division rival Washington to be processed by the league, at which point several players may be placed on the trading block, including outfielders Brian Giles and Lenny Dykstra and pitchers Alan Benes and Cal Eldred. Meanwhile, Chris Hoiles was placed on the DL today in the hopes that it will help heal his bruised heel after a month on rehab in AAA failed to do the job.

Finally, league statistician John Dybala indicated today that a functional Box Score Archive should be operational by Monday. However, it will not include box scores from yesterday's doubleheader, as he was unable to get them before the new boxes were posted today.
