The Hartford Whalers and Larimer Knights completed yet another deal early this Monday morning.
The Hartford Whalers will be sending: RF Tom Brunansky, 3B Steve Beuchele, 2B Jose Vizcaino, RHP Charlie Rothrock and LHP Bill Fisher
The Larimer Knights will be sending: RF Mark Whiten (DL), RHP Chris Gott, LF Garret Anderson, 2B/3B Todd Walker
Of the trade, Chrabascz had this to say, "Whiten brings us more power. I know, I know. As if we needed any. Anderson and Walker provide us greater depth and flexibility if anyone gets hurt and Gott is a wonderful prospect and will immediately serve us as a middle reliever."
2B Jose Vizcaino wasn't quite as please with the trade, "I guess I became expendable when Velarde and Pendleton came into town. I know I've got some errors but I thought my 11 SB would help me stay on the bench-I guess not. Oh, well. I knew my days were numbers and Chrabascz is a son-of-a-***ch."
Of Vizcaino's comments, Chrabascz later retorted, "Well, if you produce you stay and if you don't, you go. It's that simple. We weren't using Beuchele, Bruno or Jose at the moment anyway. Besides, we wanted some changes and fresh faces."
LHP Bill Fisher was pleased with the trade, "I was rotting down in AAA anyway. Maybe now I'll get some play."
TRADE RUMOR MILL
The Hartford Whalers apparently aren't done dealing yet. Rumor has it Washington (Sea Dogs) and Hartford are working on a deal involving Chuck Finley and Jose Rosado. We'll keep you posted...
Note: Mark Whiten was immediately designated for the DL, Gott replace Cal Johnson as middle relief, Anderson and Walker were sent to AAA and Ricky Trlicek (RHP) was released. Ricky had this to say, "I knew it was only a matter of time. I've done nothing this season. It'll be a miracle if someone picks my up. Guess I outta work on my golf game."
