Hartford Streak Halted at 9

The Hartford Whalers' 9-game winning streak was snapped today with a 15-6 drubbing at the hands of second-place Seattle. The loss was only Hartford's 3rd loss at home in Hartford. Seattle moved to within 5 games of Hartford, as the Whale slipped to 18-7. Aaron Sele, recently acquired in a trade with the groundhogs, was shelled for 15 runs in 9 innings. Chrabascz had this to say, "Perhaps he's still a little jet-lagged or something." When asked why Sele was allowed to throw over 200 pitches and withstand 9 uneasy innings Chrabascz had this to say, "Kid had to take his medicine and learn that around here we do our job. He won't make the same mistake twice. I guarantee it. Paul's error aside, Sele was horrific. But I'm not going to immediately change the rotation. He deserves at least a second chance for what we paid for him."
