Hartford Comments on Sele Trade

Hartford Whalers Owner/GM/Manager, Jeremy Chrabascz, made the following comments in a news conference today after the trade was announced:

Hartford Courant Reporter: Could you comment on today's trade Jeremy?

We wanted a starter and we got a starter. Neither Henry nor Mahomes were prdoucing for us at the time anyway so I wish them the best of luck in PA. We lost some valuable youth in Curtis but we will now have a starting rotation sporting a combined 15-1 record.

USA TODAY Reporter: Which starters would those be? That is, what will your rotation now be?

Maddux, Rosado, Rogers, Burke and Sele...in that order. We may also option Cordova and/or Rothrock in for Burke at some point in the season.

Boston Globe Reporter: What do you think of your team's performance thus far?

Okay, I guess. I know I spent a lot of money to have some of the best talent in the PVBL. Unfortunately, I felt we had the ability to come out of the gates undefeated for at least 20 games, scoring at least 7-8 runs a game. Wouldn't you? I mean hell, we've got some of the best hitters in the game. But thus far we've already played two extra inning affairs and a number of 1 and two run games. Overall, I'd have to say I'm pleased but don't feel anyone in the McCoy Division can really keep pace. We're anxious to play out of our division.

Hartford Courant Reporter: You're 12-2 at home thus far...can you comment on that?

Absolutely. Hartford sports fans are some of the loyalist and williest in the country. It was truly a shame that they lost the NHL. The least I could do was bring the PVBL to Connecticut. Hell, we've cornered the market on New England sports fans with the Boston Red Sox now defunct and moved on and many Providence fans defecting as their team flounders. Not to mention, we belt a top-of-the-line park out here.

Boston Herald Reporter: Are there any more plans in the works for Hartford?

No. We're happy with our rotation, our lineup, our depth and our record. We'll see what the upcoming week brings. We were undefeated one week, there's no reason we can't do it again. That'll be all. No more questions.

Chrabascz left abruptly when he realized he had to hop his chartered jet to make it to Temple in time to see Boston College's football team kickoff their season.
