Edmonton(AP)- The Edmonton Oil Kings, in a surprising move, have dealt All Star Shortstop Alex Rodriguez and Pitcher Jason Isringhausen to the Duluth Bjork for Shortstop Nomar Garciaparra and Reliever Mark Wohlers. "Alex stated last week to us that he was unhappy playing in Canada and wanted to play in the States." announced GM Sculac. "While we would of liked to keep Alex, we feel that Garciaparra is just the right guy to replace him. Nomar doesn't have the power of A-Rod, but defensively he's superior, and Nomar has great speed, so he will bat Leadoff. Also, we feel that our Bullpen is now shored up acquiring one of the best Relievers in the game in Wohlers." Reaction around Edmonton was 50/50. Most fans were sorry to see Alex leave, but were happy to acquire another talented Shortstop in Garciaparra and a superb Closer in Wohlers.
