The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired ss Alex Rodriguez and 3b Lenny Harris from Seattle. In return, the Oil Kings send 3b Ken Caminiti and ss John Valentin to the Mariners. "We are very excited about having Alex in an Oil King uniform." stated Manager/GM Brian Sculac. Caminiti had stated in Spring Training that he wanted to be traded, preferably to an American team. "While we will miss Ken's bat and his heart, we believe Alex Rodriguez will more than make up for the loss of the two veterans." Fans in Edmonton were ecstatic over the trade. Ticket sales for the next series at home sold out in 20 minutes. "We feel that with Alex, Tony Clark, and Vlad Guerrero, the Oil Kings have an amazing young nucleus with which to build with."
