Royals Return to Montreal

As has been rumored in the papers, I, Sean Corwin, have decided to resign as owner of DC United. In my tenure as owner I have done much to help DC United. In DC United's first ever trade I acquired Roger Clemens, Roberto Alomar, and Curtis Goodwin. A string of injuries has prevented DC United from playing their best ball.

Unfortunately, I have decided not to continue with the ownership of DC United. I have had many great days as the owner of DC United, but I have decided to move on. I got a deal from a group of local businessmen to sell the team for $300,000,000. After many long nights pondering the decision, I decided that I indeed should part with the team. The new owners seem very enthusiastic, and I am sure that they will do a great job as the new owners.

Unfortunately for the DC area, this may mean the relocation of the franchise. Rumors have it that the new owners are trying to move the team to Montreal. This will be a great disappointed for DC fans, but this should help improve the popularity of the game in Canada. I'm greatful for the opportunity of owning such a fine organization. I thank the DC fans for their support. I am saddened to have to leave this organization, but I feel that it is for the best. No matter what I do afterwards, I will still keep a special spot in my heart for DC United. Thank you. Sean Corwin Previous Owner of DC UNITED
