PVBL: Brooklyn Flaming Skulls
4 Game Losing Streak

July, 1997

The Skulls have lost 4 in a row and have seen their division lead drop to 2 games. The Skulls paniced and sent two very good prospects, OF- Shannon Stewart and Ruben Rivera, along with Doug Drabek to Sacramento for Todd Hollandsworth. While Hollandsworth is having a good season, .318, 27 2b, 17 sb, 66 r, many believe that Ryan George may have given up too much for him. Sacramento manager, Joe Torre had this to say, "I think we got a good deal. Hollandsworth is a good player and I wish him well but we really needed starting pitching and we got 2 very good prospects as well. Stewart and Rivera are going to be big-time players in the future and I can't wait to see them play. Stewart will be on the roster when he gets here. Drabek will take the #2 spot in the rotation."

Brooklyn is still looking to trade Andy Benes, who should be back in a week. They are looking for a good second baseman or a short stop. If anyone is interested, they should get to Brooklyn soon.
