The Skulls won a high scoring game today 11-10. Andy Benes (4-2) got the win and gave up only 1 run through 6 but ran out of gas in the seventh. The Skulls led 11-1 in the 7th but the bullpen couldn't hold a commanding lead as they gave up 4 in the 7th and 5 in the 8th. Andres Galarraga (10), Henery Rodriguez (15) and Manny Ramirez (21) all hit homeruns today. Randy Myers shut the door in a scoreless 9th. Today's win, however, was not the hottest topic in Brooklyn. Both Alex Fernandez and Brian Boehringer were activated from the D.L. and Fernandez will pitch tomorrow. To make room, the Skulls optioned Luiz Salazar to AAA Tampa and sent injured Ron Darling to AAA. The Skulls learned that Ron Darling will be out up to 2 weeks. There was also an update on the condition of Andy pettitte and it seems like he might be back in 2 months. Originally it was thought that he would miss the whole season.
Trade talks involving Andy Benes have heated up over the last few days and he could be traded within the next few days. Henery Rodriguez is still on the trading block.
