Skulls Starters Impress, Bullpen Gets Help

The week began very good for the Brooklyn Skulls. Juan Gusman started the week off with an 8 inning 2 hit, 5k performance en route to an 11-0 win. "This was a big game for our team, Gusman pitched great for us, maybe the best start of the year by any pitcher. And our offense finally came out of the slump that we were in for a while." said GM Ryan George.

The next day, David Cone went out and pitched 7 innings 1 run. Now David Cone is 3-0, in 21 innings he has given up 1 run. GM Ryan George had this to say, " When he is on David is one of the top 5 pitchers in the game and he has been great all year."

On wednesday the skulls took a step back as they were annihilated by Bellingham 20-7. Donovan Osborne pitched 4 inings but left with the team still in the game. The looser was Charlie Rothrock who gave up 9 runs over 2 innings and was immideatly sent to AAA, Ryan George had this to say " Osborne didn't pitch well but the game was still close and then Rothrock came in and completely blew the game. He has been awful for us this year and I'm sick and tierd of this crap."

The skulls made a minor trade getting Todd Worrel and Brian Boeringer for Kurt Hardie and another pitcher.

G.M. Ryan George is furious with the performance of Mark Mclemore and is looking for a secondbaseman that can bat lead-off or second.

The suprise player this week is Jose Valentin who has 4 HR's this week and 6 overall.
