A couple of days ago the Brooklyn Skulls recieved Bernie Williams and Troy Percival in a deal with Atlanta. Today it was time for the skulls to name their first captain in team history, the choice was Bernie Williams and GM Ryan George says it was an easy chice, " Bernie was without a doubt my choice for team captain, and his leadership capabilities was part of the reason I gave up so much for him. He isn't a vocal leader, he's like Don Mattingly, he leads by example. When you see him play every day you'll know what I mean, he's running full spead down the line to first on easy grounders to second, he backs up on every play, etc. He is not only the best all-around player on my team but he is one of the best all around players in the league. And as great a player as he is, he is an even better person. He is very intelligent and a very nice person."
Bernie Williams had this to say, " This is a great honor and I'm glad that Ryan thinks so highly of me. I understand the responsibilities of being captain and I'll try to do it to the best of my abilities and set a good example for my other teamates. I'm not going to get too caught up in this whole captain thing because the main objective for myself and my teamates is to win. While being captain is a great honor I have to focous on playing hard and helping my team win rather than thinking about how great it is to be captain."
Thats all for now
