Although the Binghamton Mets technically don't have the best record in the PVBL league, they might as well.Ê
Many Binghamton players have expressed a level of cockiness that has preceded any team in sports.Ê Says ace pitcher Brad Radke, who has a 9-3 record with a 2.31 era, "Hell, we're definetly the best team in the league".Ê When asked about the teams record, Radke replied, "What are we, 46-31?Ê Shit, we haven't even been trying the last 30 games".
Binghamton recently traded away starting catcher Montelone, outfielder Abreu, and pitcher Ho Chan Park for Todd Worrell, Neb Smith, and catcher Benito Santiago.Ê Said GM Jason Garnar, " We definetly can get rid of pitching.Ê We've got enough of it as it is.Ê We have probably the best starting 4 and two of the best bullpen in the league including Todd Worrell and Mel Rojas.Ê It was worth it to get Santiago".
Binghamton owner and GM jason Garnar also bought the team two new Jet Airplanes so the pitchers could ride in one and the hitters in the other.Ê This way, the pitchers can talk about pitching and the hitters can talk about hitting.Ê
Jim Thome is now leading the league in batting average.Ê Says Thome, "Sure, I can keep hitting .430.Ê I'm the man, and people better know about it".
Binghamton and arch rival Vero Beach played over the weekend and Binghamton beat the bums soundly.Ê "It was really kind of a yawner", remarked closer Mel Rojas.Ê "Ê We heard that they were good, but when we played them we didn't think that they were all that.Ê Look at all their injuries...what a bunch of girls"
Finally, word around the clubhouse goes something like this. Apparently, Binghamton owner Jason Garnar has offered a reward of $10,000 to any Binghamton pitcher or player that can take out Vero Beach's starters, whether it's a beanball or an extra hard slide.
"They better watch their backs", remarked pitcher Mike Myers.
